How do I connect to my work VPN on hotspot?

Hi.

I am trying to connect to my work VPN when I make my iPhone 7 a hotspot.  When at home I can connect fine on wifi and if I am out of the office in various hotels I can connect too but as soon as I tether data from my mobile phone (hotspot) it does not connect.

It works on other mobile phone networks.  Is this something Vodafone does not allow or is it a restriction they need to change on my account?  I am a pay monthly customer.

I have come across where a person sometimes has to contact Customer Services on 191 to have their Account Provisioned for Tethering. 

It maybe beneficial to try that. 

Also check with your Works IT Department that they have no restrictions applied. 

And double check any relevant settings / permissions in your phone. 

If you have an Apple Store local then one of the frontline specialists or Geniusbar people maybe able to check your phone too.
