How do I transfer to a new MBB plan while keeping my dongle?

I'm on the PAYG plan at the moment (3GB/£15) and I want to transfer to the £2/m PAYG plan. Apparently I have to buy a new dongle, which seems a waste as I have one already. Is there anyway I can transfer to a new plan with my existing dongle? Thanks

Hi netgem21

Thanks for your post here. I can appreciate how frustrating this must be for you but I'm afraid there is no way for us to change you over. You would need to purchase a new modem to do this.

Sorry about that

Please let me know if you have any more questions and we'll be happy to help you further

Thanks

Wayne

Similar problem with me and I can't believe that Vodafone has just lost my custom when I spoke to a customer no-service person.

I already have a 3GB , 1 month rolling contract broadband plan but I want to use that one at work and open an additional 5GB monthly plan for home use. Only trouble is that Vodafone don't do 5GB on a rolling monthly plan - only 18 months. I even told the customer no-service person that my plan was to move to Vodafone when my contract expires with 3 in early January and that I would be interested in a tethering plan in addition to the 'talk' plan so I certainly wouldn't be interested in an 18 month contract.

Is there anybody at Vodafone sales who actually thinks outside the box and can recognise potential custom rather than sticking rigidly to corporate scripts and procedures instead of increasing Vodafone's income?

Still upset that Vodafone don't want to sell me a 5 Gig plan on a one month rolling contract basis. Can't see the problem myself. Have I missed something?

Just phoned again as I refused to take 'no' for an answer. A completely different approach from the customer service person who has upgraded my 3GB plan and placed me on a 5 GB plan on a rolling monthly contract (instead of 18 or 24 months) as an exception. I think this is lateral thinking by the person concerned who obviously thought on her feet. Will now order a 3GB starter 3GB plan for work so that I have what I wanted in the first place.

Thanks very much Fast Response moderators and apologies for my frustration earlier. The reason is that I'm going to move my talk contract from a rival operator to Vodafone when my contract ends at the beginning of January and I've also ended my home broadband connection and fixed phone line on the strength of the excellent Vodafone service in Manchester.

I'm getting 5MB download and around 1.1MB upload speeds on Vodafone mobile broadband which is faster than my Sky broadband connection. The voice service is excellent as well so I'll be buying a talk contract with mobile broadband tethering in January. It'll be even better then especially if Vodafone has the HTC Desire HD available on contract !

See you in January !
