international dongle

i was wondering if it is possible to get a broadband dongle that u top up monthly that my husband can use in oman. i dont want to get one on contract as u have a minimum contract and he is only there for six month. if not what are my other options please.

U can get a uk 30 day dongle so can be cancelled on the fifth month and end on the sixth. The data used would be chargeable tho so may not be the best option. A pay and go dongle however will be £15 for 30 days but again may be extra to use abroad. Ur best bet is to try and locate a dongle supplied via the country u go to as this will be the home network.

If you do choose to purchase a Dongle then do bear in mind that it does cost £29.99 per day for a maximum of 50MB in Oman, further details can be found on our Using the Internet Abroad page. Obviously, this could work out being quite expensive. Also, we do only currently support GPRS roaming in Oman, which is slower than 3G.

With that in mind, it's probably best for your husband to purchase a modem on an Oman network when he's out there. If you do choose to purchase one of our modems though, further details can be found on our Vodafone Mobile Broadband page.
