Internet delayed for more than 2 months

After 4 trouble free years with sky I decided to sign up for Vodafone broadband. My new router was delivered on 14.september and connection was scheduled for 23 September. No connection actually happened and after making calls they told us that bt has to do some additional works at the lines and that the order will be delayed until 10th of October ( which is already ridiculous) . So on 10 October an engineer was scheduled to come to my house to activate the broadband but he never showed up . I called customer services and AGAIN they told me that there is a problem with the lines and bt has to make some work. I then called on 14 October where the broadband team told me specifically that the internet would be activated on 28 of October . I didn't really believe them since they have already have lied to my so many times but I couldn't do anything else but wait. And guess what happened on the 28th . We called cause nothing happened and once again they told us that additional work has to be done by BT, which is ridiculous. Every single day they were saying that tomorrow you'll have the internet but when the day came they were finding excuses that BT has to do additional work . So today 2 November I got a message telling me that the engineer will come on 18 of November. I called the services and they said that they can't do anything and that's how things are ! It's infuriating and unheard of waiting for 1.5 month to have wifi and now I have to wait 3 more weeks, but I'm pretty sure they again are lying to me and when that day comes they will find another excuse. Are we leaving in the prehistoric times ? I'm probably going to leave Vodafone and go to another company, I've lost faith in the company and it's ridiculous that they can't give me a straight and truthful answer for 2 months now . Vodafone truly is the most awful company ever existed cause I really don't think ANYONE else in Glasgow or in the world has to wait for 2 -3 month to have internet . This is my last effort I hope you can sort his out for me and fix it.

My activation is currently only running two weeks late (!), but to be honest I am not expecting good news in the next update. I'm trying to remain patient but it is incredibly difficult in this day and age to be without internet and trying to live a normal life...

Out of interest, did you move to Vodafone from Sky in the same property or were you moving house? Were you upgrading to fibre optic or was it like-for-like?

From what I have seen on the forum you are unlikely to get any assistance other than people suggesting you phone in or use Live Chat I'm afraid.

I moved to another property so I changed because Vodafone promised me that I will have the internet a week after I went to them while sky told me 3 weeks after . And yes I changed to fibre

but they were clearly lying to me . I'm a student also so having to go the library to study all the time because I can't at home is ridiculous !

But you shouldn't have much hope to be honest cause the way Vodafone works you'll probably get your internet next year

Yeah my problem is that there was ADSL in the property when we moved to it but we wanted fibre as the ADSL speeds are very slow here. On the activation day they (Openreach) basically realised there is no room in the fibre cabinet for us, so we are supposedly waiting for that to be extended.

I have no idea whether that will be days, weeks or months. If my next update is as vague as the previous ones then I will be downgrading to ADSL or cancelling altogether. I appreciate it is not Vodafone's fault in my case but I do not believe they are completely powerless to get proper answers from BT.

I am absolutely certain someone at their end has the facility to be able to speak to BT and get answers in the case of unsatisfactory service like you have experienced - it surely can't be the case that all they have is a text-based update from an engineer who may or may not have even bothered to look at the issue.

Hello @MongooseGeneral and @Spydim

I completely understand your frustration at this problem with your Broadband activation.

The best way forward is to speak with our Broadband Live Chat and we will check the latest updates for your connection.
