Iphone 4 Unlock - second hand phone

Hello,

I'm from germany and bought a used Iphone 4 on ebay. The phone is almost five years old. In germany i go to provider with such an old phone and they give me the code (free). I only have to give the imei. I contacted vodafone uk and a service helper told me it would be no problem in my case to unlock the phone. Now i got from nuc several emails that i have to provide the mobile number with that the iphone was registered. This is not possible. I need the unlock code urgent. I called apple and they told me i only need the imei so they wondered.

Can someone help me please? It is a five year old phone.

Thanks in advance

Jail breaking is in no way connected to unlocking an iPhone to all Networks.

Online Unlocking Solutions : I've had so many discussions with people who have tried these. Due to the 'A' Chip inside the iPhone they are just not reliable to use.

lftS, do a Google search typing in the search box 'unlock iPone 4' and there will be lots of answers come up, both video and text.

What I so far read other opinions about that security for the owner: not unlocking second hand devices ->restricting second hand phone market -> more selling new phones. And did vodafone ever think of the pollution that goes hand in hand with useless phones? I dont want to attack anyone. I can show i bought the phone legally. And i cannot understand how one can be then restricted in use. Vodafone can ask the first owner if they can see in their system and want to check.

The bottom line is that Vodafone won't unlock the device for anyone but the original owner whose details appear on their system.

Vodafone won't be able to assist you any further. They won't be able to contact the original owner, as they would be violating the data protection act by accessing their details at the request of a third party who is not authorised on the account.

You cannot use a pay as you go SIM to unlock a contract handset...

The funniest thing is by the way i was told to buy a pay as you go card with 20 pounds and i could unlock it. Whete is there the security for the previous owner?
