Iphone 5 & 6 will not reconnect to network having lost connection

I have recently changed from iphone 5 to 6 and can confirm that this problem exists on both phones so not sim card or hardware related.

Both phones work fine but when I go to areas with no signal (there are a few in hampshire where I live) neither phone would/will reconnect to the network at all. Sometimes switching to airplane mode and back will help but mostly I need to turn phone off and on again to get signal back at all. I only notice this problem when I spend some time in an area with no signal it seems.

A few points to add.

When this occurs, after switching airplane mode on/off the phones go almost immediately to no signal.

They do not attempt to connect.

On the iPhone 6 the SIM only needs to be ejected <0.5mm before 'No SIM' is displayed perhaps this tolerance is too tight.

yes I have had the problem again.

I am having the same problem it will sometimes lose signal twice a day and not reconnect until I switch the phone off and on again. Been to Apple they say the iPhone 6 handset is not to blame.

So my wife now has 6+ on voda.

We are both still getting the problem regularly.

Today in Winchester for lunch. we both lost signal. Had to reboot both phones just now 20.55 to get signal back.

If Iphone not to blame why is my future son in law on EE getting the same thing? So this is post 338 how are we going to get something done about this?

Yeah. Still happening here too.

Nobody at Vodafone wants to take ownership of this?

Neither Vodafone or Apple want to know any idea how many people are affected? It is happening less frequently for me I'm waiting to see if my wife's new iPhone 6 has a problem on O2. Started to think going back to O2 will be the way to go 😟

It is definitely less frequent across all our phones since 8.1 and 8.2 but still too often.

For a premium range device it is totally unacceptable for it not to be able to maintain the most basic of mobile telephone functions.

Agreed keeping a signal when there is clearly network coverage is fundamental

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your feedback and we'll pass this on.
