Iphone has 4g signal but won't connect in paris

Hi I'm in Paris on holiday I have turned on data roaming and have the latest apn settings .i also have euro traveler turned on . When I try to connect to Internet or try to use any app that requires data it won't connect even though I have 4g signal any help would be great . Thanks

Hi @Kevinc1820

Please can you make sure that both the Data roaming and EU internet has been selected.

This is a new setting that has been added to the new IOS 8.

Thanks for the response both settings are switched on . Data roaming and eu internet the phone still says I have a 4g signal but won't connect to safari,Google chrome ,or any app that requires data

Hi michaeltobin I am back home now and contacted support they couldn't help me much . What did they say was wrong with your phone as you seem to have had the exact same problem . Thanks

hi. i had same problem. go to: settings/cellular/cellular data network 

then check the cellular data settings -  they should be :

APN      wap.vodafone.co.uk

Username   wap

password    wap

then come back to settings/cellular and make sure you have the following:

Cellular Data ON

Enable 4G     ON (if its in your contact)

Data Roaming ON

EU Internet    OFF

then come out of settings and switch off your phone for 3 minutes and restart.
