Hi there

could someone confirm if the Nokia C2-01 is compatible with Sure Signal? It is 3G, but I would like to confirm this before purchase. I wont be purchasing directly from Vodafone.

Are all 3g phones compatible? I am looking for the cheapest pay as you go handset that will connect to my Sure Signal, as this is a 'spare'.

We already having a HTC Desire and Samsung Galaxy II working fine on the Sure Signal.

thanks for any help

could a tech support person respond if poss?

i rang vodafone, ended up with pay as you go team who told me ALL phones work on SS, i.e incl 2g, which i believe is incorrect. so i would rather check, before purchasing. the payasyougo mob would be on vodafone obvioulsy..

As far as I know, all UK 3g phones will work with a SS (I added UK in there as I am not sure if all countries run 3G on the same frequencies)

cheers grolschuk, i thought so but nice to hear it from someone else.

with the greatest of respect, the fact payg team think 2g is ok for SS, is err not exactly reassuring me about their techie knowledge :Smiling: and i didn't want to waste money on a payg mob that didnt work...

cheers

unless the SS2 now supports non-3g devices (i don't think it does) then that was wrong, but anything 3g enabled will work :Smiling:

If it does not then a PAYG handset that does work won't be too expensive compared to the hassle of having no signal in the middle of nowhere :Smiling:

Lol very true! cheers!

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your posts here and my apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

When it comes to the Sure Signal the only restriction in regards to the phones that can use it is that is needs to be a 3G phone.

Where did that come from?

James confirmed that the only thing needed by a handset is for it to be 3g to connect to the SS.

Where's the lack of knowledge there?

Hi there,

If your C2 01 is one of the recent ones, it is a 2G and 3G dual phone so does work with the 3G SS.
