K3565 rev2 (non expiring) Have been having problems with this device since last November. The device connects but there is no upload download traffic. No web pages can be displayed. I have tried both a WinXP laptop (stick used to work fine on this machine) and a Win7 PC (stick never worked on this machine). I have recently topped up the account (now showing £21 credit) with now problem!! For info: APN: pp.internet User: WEB Pass: *** Software: 9.3.5.11690 (have also tried 10.1, cannot find any other version) Firmware: 11.608.10.51.00 SIM: <removed for security> Any help to resolve this issue would be great. Thanks

Hi JohnH69,
Looks like you may not have the latest version of the software - I'll get that sent to your registered email address.
If installing that doesn't fix things, can you confirm:
- What lights show on the modem?
- Do you get an error message? If so, is it listed here?
- Have you tried these troubleshooting steps?

Hi,
This problem could be caused by quite a few things.
Do you ever use these machines on an office network?
I you put 74.125.132.105 in your browser does it load google?
Have you got any proxy settings in your browser?
Do any other (i.e. not via the K3565) internet connections work?
Have you tried another browser?
I you go to your command prompt an type ipconfig/all and press return what are the IP address, DNS addresses and default gateway?
If you could let us know it would e great.
Thanks in advance

Hello, thanks for the replies and software link (now on 10.3). The "clean boot" identified a software problem which I have narrowed down to PeerBlock. Once I uninstalled this software the stick connected no problem.
Just out of interest I visited the Vodafone shop in Kidderminster and by trial and error confirmed the stick itself with another SIM worked fine and my account is fully active. However when my SIM was used in another stick and labtop it would not display web pages, very strange!
Anyway it is now working correctly in my labtop. Thanks for the help.

Hi John,
Good to hear it's all working OK now.
Just to confirm, when you were in the shop, you used a store sim, got conencted and everything worked fine, you then put your sim in the dongle, reconnected and got page cannot be sidplayed thereafter?
The reason I ask is that sounds very wierd!
Any chance you could confirm the situation?
Thanks in advance

Hello, yes it was a bit odd in the shop. They were using their laptop and I got them to try my stick with their sim and no problem internet connection fine, therefore the stick was working O/K. Then we tried their stick and laptop with my SIM and apparently no web connection although I could not see the screen. They checked my account on their system and all was in order.
I cannot explain why they could not display web pages with my SIM. My problem at home was traced to the program PeerBlock. I have now tried the stick/SIM in my main Win7 PC and this also now works fine by adding an exception in the PeerBlock software.
Anyway once again thanks for the help.
Regards
John

Hi John,
Thanks for clarifying.
That all does sound a bit odd what with the shop situation.
I doubt there's anything wrong with your account if everything is working at home, and no accoutn changes were made between the shop and hime. It might be something specific to the connection made in the shop, but that is a big shot int he dark.
Anyway, it's good to hear that things are working OK for you.
Cheers,
HC
