K3656 Rev 2 Connection Issues

I've just come back from portugal with a K3565 rev 2 dongle purchased over there.

Having purchased a Vodafone UK 1GB £15 free SIM from ebay (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290435205642) and also unlocked the dongle I still don't appear to be able to get past the 'Setting ip TCP/IP network...' getting PPP and APN error messages.


Being new to all this, a few things I've not managed to figure out which might well help:


- Can you change the default connection settings. All I get when trying to edit the 'default' connection is a new custom setting that isn't selectable when trying to connect. Starting to think the modem maybe using the old setting from the Portugal network, but there's nowhere to check from what I can tell.
- Would you need Airport turned off for the modem to successfully set up / connect. i.e. Airport has already setup TCP/IP settings.
- Are the setting for the above SIM ppbundle.internet, web, web ?


Any help would be appreciated.

Let me start by welcoming you to the eForum family.

If you have a 1Gb for £15 Data account the APN for that would be pp.internet , the APN ppbundle.internet is used on the 3Gb 30 day expiring data accounts, so you need to change this setting. The password and username for both is web. It's likely to be this that's stopping your connection.
