K3760 Dongle On Linpus Acer Aspire One Not Working

Hi,

I have an Acer Aspire One, running Linpus Linux Lite (1.0.7.E). I'm trying to use my Vodafone K3760 broadband dongle with it, but I'm having no luck getting it to work.

The dongle has the 1.5 firmware if it makes any difference...

I've downloaded and installed the application following the instructions on this page at Betavine:

The software installs just fine, and the icon is in the menu, but it doesn't seem to work though. It just gets stuck at about 50% bar mark in the 'Initial setup' screen.

I've restarted the computer and left the software to 'install' for 20 minutes and still nothing.

I'm guessing I've missed something.

Any helpful suggestions?

I looked for a place to ask these question over on Betavine, but the only related forums I could find seemed to have no traffic.

Any help much appreciated.

Hi _Jon,

Firstly, a very warm welcome to the eForum Family, it's always great to see new faces on here .

I'll be honest and admit that there's not a lot I can suggest on this matter, as the modem is not supported on Linux we don't have any information as to how to get this working, I've also never used Linux myself so wouldn't know where to begin . That's not to say that you won't be able to get any support though, I'm sure there's Linux users on here who may have come across this issue before. Additionally I'd give the Betavine site a try.

I know that's probably not what you wanted to hear but I'm positive someone will come along soon to lend a helping hand

Thanks for the reply.

I found the forums on the Betavine site (finally) and posted the question over there as well.

I'm just hoping that someone reading this has encountered the same scenario and knows the solution to what must surely be a simple issue.
