Hi guys,
Signed up to a one month contract mobile broadband dongle a couple of days ago and assumed it was 'plug-in and play' which has been successful so far.
I have a two bar connection which should be enough to connect me to the internet, right?
I connect successfully with a solid blue light on my dongle however in Windows when I check my network connections it says im completely connected but "no network access"
One of the reasons why I bought my dongle is because the coverage in my area is very good indoors and outdoors.
I'm fairly high up and im sitting right next to a window..
Do I need to do anything to activate it?
What can I do to get internet access?
Thanks :smileyvery-happy:

Ok, I posted this as this was supplied to me from Vodafine after serveral hours on the phone to them wasted trying to sort this as I thought it may help other people!!
3 windows 7 machines I have that this doesn't work on are different (lenovo, dell and samsung) ... we went through all the uninstall, reinstall, clean boot etc etc etc etc etc etc. Laptops came from Amazon, Lenovo and Dell directly and was their standard installs of Windows. They are totally unrelated and purchased at different times
I am trying to help others as there are MANY posts over the internet with a similar problem and no solutions and this solution has worked on all 3

Hey,
Sure, there are many posts about this kind of thing, but they do usually get resolved.
For someone within Vodafone to say that it doesn't work on Windows 7 is misinformation, as Windows 7 is listed as a supported operating system here so it has been tested and does work. When you spoke to Vodafone did they clean your registry, use the WDKDI tool that's part of the full VMB download or remeove your appdata or have you download and run the clean up tool that can be found here?
If they didn't then the chances are you were affected by a problem in the first instance, and doing the uninstall/reinstall didn't have any effect as it doesn't touch the appdata and some of the reg keys, it also doesn't remove drivers when doing a standard uninstall (that's what the WDKDI tool does).
The problem isn't uncommon, but by making a dial up networking connection you're just bypassing the issue, not diagnosing or addressing it. You also loose a lot of handy stuff if you uninstall the Vodafone software, such as network selection, 2G/3G switching and most inmportantly text messaging. You might think that SMS isn't important, but seeing as this is how Vodafone communicate roaming changes to users, it has both a billing and legal perspective that is bypassed when using a DUN connection.
Soooo....
The clean boot didn't make a difference? Which verison of VMB are you using? Did it come form the K3770 or did you download it?
Did you try uninstalling just the network adapter from the device manager and then doing the scan for hardware changes? Did this make any difference?
What antivirus/firewall is in use?
Does connecting by th Windows connection manager work?
If you could le tus know it would be top.
Cheers
