We have a laptop running Windows 7 and have just purchased a K3772 dongle.
The problem we have is that each time it is plugged in it goes through the process of installing the device driver software.
Surely, once it is installed there should be no need to do it again.

Hi Mysteryman,
Please take a look here at our driver installation troubleshooting guide.
Let us know how you get on because if this doesn’t work, we can look into updating your current version of Vodafone Mobile Broadband.
Thanks,
Jenny

Hi,
Could you clarify what happens hwen you plug the USB modem in? Does the Vodafone Mobile BRoadband software installer run every time you plug the device in?
To a degree there will be an element of activity in the bottom right hand corner of the screen due to the device enumeration that occurs. This is kind of like the mapping and conversion of USB resources to things like network adapters and modem drivers. This has to happen as you've got a physical USB device that is being used as a network driver or modem.
If the installation/enumeration is a point of concern it might be worth considering a Mobile WiFi device as there's no requirement to install software or drivers when using one of these.
I hope this helps.

Will be a few days before I can reply with any further information as the laptop is at another location. Will try and collect over weekend and investigate further.

*UPDATE*
Things have now moved on and we have stopped using the Vodafone dongle (we got shafted on the deal that we thought we had agreed to and are now trying to reclaim the money!!!!)
So, do not need to solve this problem any more - thanks to all those that offered help.
