Hello.
If the dongle will work or not is a question probably best directed to the tablet manufacturers.
Vodafone don't make any software for Android devices (only Mac and Windows), to enable them to be used with USB modems. On occasion the tablet manufacturer will add software to their Android devices to allow USB modem support, but this is at the discretion of the tablet manufacturers, hence the question best being directed at them.
It's possible that someone has developed an app that provides USB modem support for Android devices, but this would be something made by a 3rd party (not Vodafone, the USB modem manufacturers, or the tablet manufacturers) so there wouldn't be a guarantee that this would work. It might be worth having a look in the google play store, though. From having a quick look (I searched for 3G modem) there do appear to be a couple of apps that are orientated to this kind of setup, but they generally need root access and a USB host on your phone to work. I'm not 100% sure, but rooting your phone might invalidate your warranty, so it might be worth checkggn this with Vodafone first.
If they don't support USB modems, then you could use the WiFi capabilities of the tablet with a Mobile WiFi device (the R201 or R205 for example) to connect to mobile data services. Also a lot of phones have WiFi hotspot capabilities these days, so you could use your phoe as the WiFi router and connect to it via your tablet, provided your phone has this functionality. I think most smart phones can be turned into a WiFi hotspot. How you go about doing this, or if it's possible at all, depends on the phone that you have.
Hope that helps.
