using 10.2.302 logged in as Administrator I get :

"Administrative privileges are required in order to install Vodafone Mobile Connect Lite. The installer will now exit."

A solution would be appreciated.

Hi wds

Thank you for your post and a very warm welcome to the eForum.:smileyhappy:

This error occurs because the minimum system requirements are not present on your computer to install the Vodafone Mobile Connect (VMC).

Please can you ensure that the device you are installing this on has the latest software installed such as the Windows Service Packs, this will then allow you to install VMC.

Many Thanks

thanks DaveCD for your post.
the OS is fully patched/updated.

I realise that it will not be possible to install the full or the lite version of VMC, so I would like simply the drivers so I can use the windows dialup.
Failing that is there an alternative 'dash board' for the K3805-Z that will work on my OS (that will come I guess with suitable drivers within its installer)? (I cannot find either on ZTE's website.)

Many thanks

William.

Hi wds

Thank you for your response.:smileyhappy:

You can download the latest version for your computer here, we also have the quick start and troubleshooting guides here.

Let me know how you get on.

Many Thanks

'DaveCD', you seem to have replied, however your reply is useless.
The reasons for that are:
a) it is the same software that has been explicitly stated as not working.
b) you have already provided a link to that software
c) the last post specifically stated that the linked to software was not wanted.
d) that software is not the drivers for the stated device/os which was asked for in the last post, instead it is a 100mb download.
e) you have failed to comment on the availability of software from ZTE or availability of any other drivers or 'dash boards'

I am looking for just drivers for my device and OS, where are they?
I really should have to repeat myself to such an experienced and prolific forum poster such as yourself.

Perhaps you could also apologise for acting like a complete ******* ****, thanks.

Hi wds,

I must admit that I do think that the last line of your post is a little uncalled for especially as DaveCD is only trying to assist you with your query.

With this said, if you are experiencing issues with using the VMC software then you can create a manual dial-up network (DUN) command for the modem.

Unfortunately I don’t have an exact guide for your version of windows however I have attached a guide to my post which will explain how to do this in more detail.

I would give this a go and let me know if you are still having issues or if you get stuck at any point.

James

I'll need the drivers installed for that device to be recognised and available on a COM port won't I James?

The rebuke is and was clearly entirely justified, your (slight) disagreement with this is what exactly? Is it because taken on its own the response from DaveCD looked helpful?

Hi wds

Thank you for your posts, it is great to see you again.:smileyhappy:

Please can you try the dongle on another computer and let me know how you get on, this way we can see if the dongle is at fault or the OS you are using.

The drivers are included in the software which is included in the dongle, please can you follow the guide provided by James.

Many Thanks

Hi DaveCD,

The VMC full and lite software does not install on Win2003. (I have tried a number of different vodafone dongles and VMC versions all with the same message regarding Administrative Rights.)

If you do not have the drivers separately available from yourselves or know of a location elsewhere, then its use on this OS is beyond my, Your's, James's or Vodafone's technical abilities.

Hi wds

Thank you for your post.:smileyhappy:

The driver software you are looking for has minimum requirements of Windows XP or above, Windows 2003 is not listed as a compatible OS which is why we have limited information.

Please take a look a look at the minimum system requirements from the quick start guide as posted previously.

Many Thanks
