Kyocera Brigadier APN

Hey guys, I am from the US and purchased a while ago an unlocked Verizon set-up phone: a Kyocera Brigadier (android OS).

Having recently purchased a SIM card from Vodafone (as I will now be residing in Glasgow), I was hoping to be able to use mobile data as well as sms and voice.

While the sms and voice both seem to work fine, I cannot get the internet to woek properly (or at all for that matter). So I ran a debloater and managed to unlock my APN settings, so that I may now freely edit and add APNs.

Yet every set up of manual APN I try has failed (and sending the message "WEB" to 40127 simply resulted in them telling me that my phone does not support automatic settings updates.

So when I go to http://support.vodafone.co.uk/Device-Guides/ and select "phones" there is not even an option for Kyocera in the "manufacturer" column.

Does anyone know the proper Vodafone APN settings for a Kyocera Brigadier? How can I ge my mobile data and mms running!?!

I realise it is a very unuasual phone (woe is me for not purchasing a standard iphone or samsung!) but I absolutely love the phone otherwise and it is incredbly durable.

Help please! I despearately need to access mobile data while on the go!!

Thanks,

Sandra

Fixed it!!

The APN settings are different from any other configuration I had tried prior. They are as follows, should anyone in the future have the same issues:

Name: Whatever you want

APN: pp.vodafone.co.uk

Proxy: not set

Port: not set

Username: web

Password: web

Server: not set

MMSC: http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms

MMS Proxy: 212.183.137.12

MMS Port: 8799

MCC: 234

MNC: 15

Authentication Type: not set

APN Type: default, mms

APN protocol: IPv4

This particular configuration seems to have fixed the problem (at least for the time being) and I'm grateful to those of you who answered my thread in an attempt to help me figure this out.

Hi

These are the Android Apn's

HOW TO CONNECT AN ANDROID PHONE TO VODAFONE MOBILE INTERNET
Getting your Android handset online can be a challenge when it comes to putting the settings in manually but don’t worry, we're here to help.

From the home screen:

Tap the Menu button
Tap Settings
Tap Wireless and networks or More... (depending on your version of Android)
Tap Mobile Networks
Tap Access point names
Tap the Menu button
Tap New APN
Enter the following data into the onscreen form, without changing any other settings;
Name - Vodafone Internet
APN - internet (PAYG - pp.vodafone.co.uk)
Username - web (PAYG - wap)
Password - web (PAYG - wap)
MMSC - http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms
MMS Proxy - 212.183.137.12
MMS Port - 8799
Authentication type - PAP
APN type - If given a choice, select internet+mms, if the keyboard appears enter *
(As a check, the image below shows blue text in the fields you should have completed)
Tap the Menu button
Tap Save
Enable the newly-added APN by ensuring the line is ticked, or the radio button is lit by tapping on it
Check the notification bar for 4G, H, 3G, E or G with up and down arrows beside it, which will indicate your connection is working

These are the Frequencies Vodafone Use.

Please check the frequencies in your phone.

Frequencies used on the Vodafone UK network
Frequency Protocol Class
900 MHz GSM/GPRS/EDGE 2G
1800 MHz GSM/GPRS/EDGE 2G
900 MHz UMTS/HSDPA/HSPA+/DC-HSPA+ 3G
2100 MHz UMTS/HSDPA/HSPA+/DC-HSPA+ 3G
800 MHz LTE 4G
2600 MHz LTE Advanced

Current Phone  >

Samsung Galaxy s²³ Ultra 512gb Phantom Black.

I appreciate the quick response!

Those are the exact settings i tried (i've been trying to figure this out for a while now).

However, I do not understand what you mean by "Enable the newly-added APN by ensuring the line is ticked, or the radio button is lit by tapping on it"

On my phone, there does not appear to be any options to do anything of the sort. There is nothing to tap nor to tick off.

Likwise, I've admittedly no idea how to check my frequencies?

It's a while since I set an APN up manually but, from memory, it took a long press on the appropriate one to come up with the "set as default" option.
