hello everyone. i have had an LG G4 for about 7-8 months now and im not impressed with the phone or Vodafone. Firstly when i was looking at the contract i agreed to the deal vodafone offered me and they sent me the wrong phone. i asked for an LG G4 and they sent a Sony phone. so i sent this back then they sent an LG G4c which again was wrong so i sent it back then they sent me a Sony phone again! by this point i was sooooo annoyed and i sent that back then they finally send an LG G4 but with the plastic back when i should of got a leather backed phone but by this point i just accepted this one because i was so frustrated. so 4 months down the line im on a dream holiday in Bali and Hong Kong and the last day what happens........LG BOOTLOOP. phone is dead, lost all of my holiday pictures and had no phone for the remainder of my trip which granted wasnt long left. i went to vodafone store when i returned to uk and they sent it for repair and changed the antenna and something else they said. 3 months later AGAIN my phones dead even tho it was just on my sofa with 80% battery and not even doing anything. i have sent it off again with vodafone to fix and its on its way back now and it says on the vodafone repair tracker they have changed the motherboard. i have since read online that even after a motherboard change it will more than likely break again as its a common fault with LG G4. i was never told this when signing up to the contract when originally i was going to get a samsung but the vodafone advisor persuaded me to get an LG as they said it was a great phone with amazing reliability......oh how i was wrong. id like vodafone to change this for me as i rely on my phone so much now for my buisness. has anyone else had these issues? ive been a very loyal customer to vodafone and im being treated so badly from them and when i ask in store they are so very rude and never want to strive to actually help me. PLEASE HELP.

Hi
Its always advisable to back up your photos and data somewhere else too. Such as sd card and icloud and or Dropbox.
Vodafone wouldn't swap out the phone for another different model when a person is past their 30 day cooling off period. They'd repair instead 24 month warranty as long as the issue was covered under the warranty.

yes since losing all of my holiday pictures i now have an SD card in the phone and google photos. im just frustrated because the customer service has been terrible and they never want to help besides sending the phone to be repaired then get it back hope it fixes it. ive lost all confidence in LG as a brand to the point that i have got rid of my LG tv and now got a Sony. im annoyed also because when getting the contraxt with vodafone i wanted the HTC or Samsung but they kept on saying get the LG so i did and now ive been nothing but disappointed with the product. also all the business of them send the wrong phone 3 times............3 TIMES!!!! is it that hard to look at a screen that says LG G4 and send a Sony???? not good.

I believe this was a known issue with some G4's (?). Your best option would be to go direct to LG as they would be more likely to supply a replacement than insist on a repair. In fact, I have this vague memory that LG's policy in these cases may have been replacement due to the nature of the fault.
Quite why you would get a Sony device instead of an LG one is hard to fathom. It doesn't exactly sound like a packing error.

That's good that your now backing up your information.
I have a LG TV and LG cinema surround sound system and have had no issues. I've also owned various LG mobiles too.
The employees are there to help , advise and recommend. At the end of the day it's you as the customer who makes the final decision.
I wish you all the best.

I've just encountered the boot loop issue, i contacted LG UK direct after advice from another thread. A courier is lined up to pick my phone up and take to LG for repair etc.
