When I use the tube I try and access the VF wifi, but can't connect. Same problem with BT Openzone.
For the tube, I have Wifi allowance in my bundle so it should simply 'connect'.
For BT Wi-fi premium, VF advises:
"The My Vodafone app will help you find your nearest BT Wi-fi premium hotspot. Once you’re in range of one, make sure Wi-Fi is activated on your device and choose ‘Auto-BTWifi’ from the Wi-Fi options – our device guides will show you how.
After you’ve connected to a BT Wi-fi hotspot for the first time, your phone will automatically connect to one whenever you’re within range, providing you have Wi-Fi turned on.
If don’t have the app, or if you’re using any other mobile device, tablet or laptop, the BT Wi-fi portal will open when you open your browser. From here, choose ‘Log in with my UK mobile provider,’ then choose ‘Vodafone’, and register with your My Vodafone username and password."
Neither of these works. I enter my VF username and password (for BT connections) and it fails to authenticate, yet when I reach the surface and access my account on the phone's browser, it logs in straight away.
The matter with BT has been going on for years and in recent years I've not been that bothered by it as more and more businesses have free wifi anyway.
As for the tube, it's just frustrating that something I should have instant access to is just not available.
These factors all contribute to my view of VF, formed many years ago, that VF sucks. Sadly, I have no choice as the area around my home is served exclusively by VF, so if I want my phone to work at home then it has to be VF. So much for competition.
