Major Usb Dongle Problem

My USB Modem Stick Pro just arrived. I was estatic. So...I plugged it in, installed the VMClite from the drive and installed everything.

BIG problem though, I get a 'No Devices' message shown. I've tried restarting, re-installing, updating etc (even uninstalling PowerISO) and yet the problem remains.

Something I have noticed...in Computer (I am using VISTA), the USB dongle stick shows as CD Drive (H:) VMC Lite (and then the version number) which seems odd - shouldn't it be shown up as a USB device or something else ?

Well anyway. PLEASE help.

I had this exact same issue with mine under windows 7. So what I ended up doing was leaving everything installed from Vodafone (after having tried reinstalling etc). Close all the vodafone software and download the drivers and software from option. This is the manufacturer for the pro stick K3760.

When mine installed using vodafone it only detected the drive portion and it actually installed it only as a drive and not as a drive and a modem.

Oh and after installing the Option Drivers, you can choose to use either the Vodafone or Option Globetrotter dialer. The Globetrotter is much simplified and faster to use but either will work fine. Under windows 7 I just use the windows connector which keeps everything nice and clean.

Good luck, hope this helps.

There was a problem with what XPn thought the device is - it thought it was a CD ROM and not a modem. That's finally sorted but I can't put my computer to sleep or put it on hibernate as when I start the compter back up...it shows (again) as "No Device" in the mobile connect software, and I have to restart. Which is a sshame. But I can mcope with that.

Hi Mikkyh,

Thanks for letting us know, that's really helpful :)

The sleep/hibernate problem is known to us, but it's a quirk of Windows and not something we can really fix I'm afraid.
