Hello, I did an upgrade online on the 5th of may, that following night when I recieved a phone call, the screen all started flashing black, I switched the phone off and on again and it seemed to be fine, Onthe 6th of may (yesterday) I flew out to spain, the phone was fine, i was watching films on plane etc, but as soon as I got to my villa, and used the torch, the whole phone froze up, i couldn't tap anything, I tried restarting the phone, however it wouldnt boot up it just said samsung s8 plus powered by android, eventually 15 mins later it powered up and asked me to enter my pin, i went to do so but the display has competely stopped working, no matter where or how i press nothing happens, I held the 3 buttons down to perform a factory reset, and again, after 15 mins of waiting for it to turn on, i couldnt set it up. Now I am stuck in spain for 10 days with no access to a phone just crappy wifi whenever or whoever I can get to. What am I meant to do? Can I take it to a vodafone store over here? I knew moving from my huawei p9 was a bad idea.

JHi @iLukey96

Totally appreciate how inconvenient it can be if a phone fails as we all seem to have our life's on them.

Sadly technology can and will fail.

If performing the Hard Reset hasn't remedied the issue first time then it maybe worth trying just once more. Be aware your information in the phone such as pictures , contacts etc may have already been lost as this process wipes the phone and takes it back to the last formware update.

Vodafone Networks in other countries are not linked even tho they share the Vodafone branding so wouldn't be able to officially help.

That said if you find a helpful employee they may try rebooting it.

If you can find any type of Samsung Experience Store they may help. Some manufacturing warranties are location based so nit valid in other countries.

Unfortunately if the 2nd  Hard Reset has failed then this does sound like a possible Hardware Issue which needs an authorised engineers attention. Try googling on another phone / computer to see if a Samsung Service Location is near.

If all else fails the only other route I can see is packing your phone away and pick up a cheap unlocked to all networks phone and use your Vodafone Sim Card in that until your return to the U.K ,and you can approach a Samsung Service location or if under 30 days old tell Vodafone Customer Services now via the abroad number  +44 7836 191 191
(standard call charges apply) or Live Chat so they can log this on your Account Notes and arrange to swap it out when you return or if over 30 days old they can send it off to one of their repair centres. I'd advise using Samsung primarily however as they imo know their hardware and software better.
