Mobile Broadband - Flakey connection

Hi, Im brand new and not tech savvy. I have a Vodafone 3G dongle that usually only gets used when at work on the weekends (night shift). I have had the account for around 2 years and not had many problems with connection. However the last few weeks the connection keeps cutting out, it is at best flakey and a lot of the time just does not work. Any advice please? :(

I am in the EH12 area.

I am sorry to hear that you are having some problems with your dongle but I am sure we can help you get this working again. The first thing to do would be to try and force the SIM card to update with the network. If your dongle is not communicating properly with the network it can cause the sorts of problems you have been experiencing. You can do this by removing the SIM card from the device and leaving them apart for around 10 minutes. You can also help to facilitate this update if you are able to put the SIM card into a Vodafone or unlocked handset for a few minutes.

If you are still having the same problems once you have given this a try could you post your full Postcode then I can check the network in that area.
