Mobile Broadband - Instructions for K 3760 dongle

Hasland
Not applicable
Dear All,
I have the so called all singing all dancing Vodafone Broadband dongle (it's a year old now) but I don't have any instructions with it. I get a red light, flashing and solid blue and green; what does this mean?
There is also a slot for a Micro SD card but the Vodafone web site cannot make up it's mind whether it can take a 4Gb or 8Gb card.
Does this Micro SD card show up as a separate drive in windows explorer? I am running Vista at the moment. I am planning on upgrading to win 7 (32 bit) will the dongle still work?
Is there a downloadable data/instruction sheet?
Please advise.
Thanks

Hi Hasland,

Thank you for posting, I'll be more than happy to answer all of your questions :).

Firstly, the lights on the modem mean the following:

Red Light: Searching for a network
Flashing Green Light: GPRS/EDGE Network found
Flashing Blue Light: 3G Network found
Solid Green Light: Connected to GPRS/EDGE Network
Solid Dark Blue Light: Connected to 3G Network
Solid Light Blue Light: Connected to 3G+ (HSDPA) Network

So effectively, the best connection would be if you were seeing a solid light blue light.

The maximum memory card size the modem should be able to take is 4GB. When this is inserted, the modem will show as a separate drive much like a normal USB memory stick would.

The modem is definitely Windows 7 compatible, however I would recommend you download the latest VMC software, which contains all of the known Windows 7 bug fixes, this can be found here: VMC 9.4.6.

Finally, there is a user guide for this modem, it can be found at the following link: K3760 Modem User Guide.

I trust that answers your questions, if you need any further assistance then don't hesitate to ask :).
