Mobile Broadband - K3565 not connecting on Windows 7

My old style (non-expiring) PAYG K3565 (rev2) dongle will not connect to my new laptop running Windows 7 64 bit.
It did connect to windows XP and still does, but only once did it connect (first attempt) to the new laptop with Windows 7 around 2 months ago. Since then all attempts and combinations of starting up routines have not managed to connect although there is sufficient signal.

Any help appreciated

Firstly, a very warm welcome to the eForum Family, it's always great to see new faces on here :).

Can you let me know exactly what's happening when you try to connect? Do you get any error messages at all? Also, what colour is the flashing light on the modem? Once I have this information, I'll be able to advise you further. In the meantime, it may be worth attempting to connect using the dial-up connection in place, this will bypass the VMC software. It can be done as follows:

-Go To Start
-Click Connect To
-Click VMC
-Click Connect

If that doesn't resolve your issue then please let me know the answers to my questions above and I'll be able to help you further.

The dongle flashes blue.
When trying to connect the connection window stays on indefintely until cancelled. No error message.
Trying to connect directly from Windows "Connect to" did not work.
any other suggestions

Thanks for your post here. I'm sorry to hear that you are still having these issues.

When you tried to connect directly via Windows what exactly happened? Did you get any error messages at all?

Also, try and download the latest version of the software - Vodafone Mobile Connect

On connecting directly via Windows the connecting symbol is activated on the task bar and after about 1 minute I get an error message 638 "the remote server is not responding in a timely fashion" And then redials with the same result after a minute or so, and so on.

I have already downloaded what I belive is the latest version of the software, 9.4.6.20529 - is this correct?

Ps couldn't get the link you posted to work.

Any more suggestions?

It appears there may be an issue running the combination of modem and software on this specific version of Windows 7 X64. I would advise trying a slightly older version of our VMC software V4.4.4, or creating a separate admin profile on your PC and running a fresh install from there.

Please let us know of any improvements.
