Hi Please could you list the settings for the Netgear USB modem to use to connect via the K3565 USB stick as I am unable to connect (pays as you go customer). The usb stick works OK on the PC. I have downloaded the latest firmware for the router

User Name (I used web and my acount username)
Password (I used web and my account password)
Country (I used UK)
Internet Service Provder (I used Vodafone (prepay))
Access Number (this is on *99***1#)
APN (I tried pp.internet and pp.bundleinternet and pp.bundle.internet)
PDP Type (tried IP and PPP)

I am looking forward to getting this hooked up so I can get on to the next step which is remote access to the LAN via the Vodafone connection so I will need more help but first things first
Thanks

Hi Carwashmike and welcome to the eForum.

The connection settings are as follows:

Username: web
password: web
APN: ppbundle.internet

The rest of the setting should be fine as they are. I don't have a very clear picture of the setup you're trying to achieve so to say, i.e. with the Netgear USB modem, but the above settings are what you need.

Please get back to us if you continue to have problems.

Thanks

Brillian Thanks that's working fine now, the settings in the router were incorrect. What I am trying to do is use this setup on a remote site to connect to a PLC and an HMI panel controlling a customers machine. We install and maintain equipment and would like to be able to upload program changes to the PLC and interrogate the HMI panel. The mobile broadband will be very useful but we will need to set up a vnc type connection will this be possible bearing in mind we wont have a "normal" IP address. I was thinkng of using a DYNDNS service do you think thar is the answer.
Thanks
Mike

Hi, I just bought a Topup and Go USB modem. Works fine with my company vodafone contract SIM (PCMCIA card died) but I'm also trying to use the Topup and Go SIM with it for my own use. Works fine under Windows on another machine, but when I use it under linux I get prompted for an additional password.

Currents settings are:

Number: *99***1# (also tried *99#)
Username: web
Password: web
APN: ppbundle.internet

Where's the additional password request coming from ? Is it a SIM password ?

Thanks,

Steve
