Mobile Broadband - Network Unlocking Code

Hi

Can you please tell me if it would be possible to to get the network lock removed whilst still under contract as it would be far to expensive to use it on my uk contact for a period of 1 month in New Zealand at the end of the year, and would like to use a local network?
