Mobile Broadband - Slow Connection And Download Limit Question

Handyann
Not applicable
Hi,

I've just received the kit today for my new mobile broadband. Firstly, I'm very disappointed with the connectivity. According to the coverage map, I am on the edge of a 3G area, with 'good' connectivity and at a 'very good' level with the GRPS connection. So far (at work) I've only been able to connect to GRPS at the incredibly low speed of just over 40kbps. How can I connect to the 3G network please? The Vodafone 3G isn't appearing on the networks list, although those of all the other providers are.

Also, looking at the download allowance, I am only allowed 7GB but signed up for an unlimited download package. Can you clarify please?

Many thanks

Hi Handyann,

Thanks for getting touch and a very warm welcome to the eforum Family :D

While the Coverage Maps give a generalised idea of network availability, indoor coverage can be lower due to variables; from the materials the building is made of, to obstructions to layout. Does the coverage improve outside or near a window at all? Could you let me know your postcode too so that I can check the cell sites in your area, I'll be more than happy to check all is ok with them too ;)

If all else fails and you're not getting the coverage you need, then you will have a 7 day cooling off period should you need to return it. As far as the allowance goes, we offer 1GB, 3GB and 5GB plans on consumer tariffs. Could you link me to where you took out the 7GB allowance?

Cheers, Ben
