Mobile Broadband - netbook displays device switched off

have already left a post on this topic with no joy as it is supposed to be a hardware issue

i have a dell inspiron 910 netbook that has the following issue

when i open the vmc dashboard it says device switched of, so i am unable to search for a network and connect

has been sent too dell 3 times and no resolution

sim has been checked in another device and works

have tried to explain to dell customer care who push me back to vodafone

tried dell online tech help and was pushed back to vodafone

vodafone pushed me back to dell

have no desire to send away a fourth time as they seem to keep fixing the wifi which is not the issue

really have exhausted all avenues

tried forums, google search and vodafone store also and the guy tried everything i did for over a week and was pushed from dell to vodafone to dell etc etc

any help out there would be greatfully received

Hi Iain,

I'm sorry to hear that your last issue, posted here, was not resolved by Dell :(

Unfortunately our situation remains the same. We are only responsible for the provision of the SIM Card, and access to our network. Your SIM card works fine in phones and other laptops, which proves that there is no fault with our side of things.

This only leaves a hardware fault with the embedded module, which we are powerless to help with. If I were in your position, I would be complaining to Dell pretty loudly by now. Being unable to tell the difference between an embedded SIM module, and WiFi, is unacceptable.

This is 100% a Dell issue, and can only be resolved by them.
