Although I have internet access on my phone, I find browsing the web on the small screen of my mobile tedious and unrewarding in the extreme. Is there anyway I can view the pages on a laptop screen without taking out a new ISP account, buying a dongle and a SIM card or paying addition subscriptions.
My phone can function with my laptop as a modem but I have been warned that I will be charged extortionate amounts of money by Vodafone if I use it that way.
Can someone clarify please?

Hi Tojiero,
Firstly, a very warm welcome to the eForum family, it's always good to see new faces on here
Glad to hear you're thinking of using your phone as a modem, this is an excellent way to connect to the internet that is not as expensive as you may think.
getti has hit the nail on the head with this one (Thanks getti ). More details on what he has advised can be found on our Mobile Broadband Via The Phone page. I'd certainly recommend checking this one out. You don't even need to contact 191 as we can add it for you. I've sent an email to you, if you respond then we'll be in touch as soon as we can.

Hi -
If your phone has WiFi (e.g. Nokia N95 or N96 and many others) then you can use software called JoikuSpot to make a WiFi hotspot using your phone, and because your PHONE is accessing the internet, not your computer using the phone as a modem, your phone service provider can't tell that you are using a computer, and so it comes under your normal phone internet package.
There is also other software that does it - search for WalkingHotSpot
Search on Google for mobile wifi hotspot.
The only down side is that your mobile battery gets used quite quickly if used for long periods.

Hi Siddie,
Thanks for getting back. I'm not sure I understand this one. Are you saying that the phone accesses the internet and then WiFi's it to the laptop? That sounds promising. Unfortunately my phone has Bluetooth but no WiFi that I can see and my Laptop has WiFi but no Bluetooth. Can I not do the same thing but just use a cable?
