Mobile Wi-Fi R205

Hi

I purchased a Mobile Wi-Fi R205 while in Egypt to give me easy Wi-Fi access, the Vodafone shop in Egypt said that it might be locked to Vodafone Egypt and I was wondering if it is locked can it be unlocked so that I can use it with Vodafone Turkey when we go on holiday next month or will a Turkish Vodafone SIM work without having to unlock?

Hi Alan_R205,

Only the supplying network, in this case Vodafone Spain, can unlock your R205.

Thats's not quite correct, I purchased my R205 in Egypt and it was locked to Vodafone Egypt, nobody on here was able to provide a definitive answer so I eventually looked on eBay and got an unlock code WHICH WORKS for a couple of pounds.
