missing credit on my dongle

I purchased a USB mobile Internet dongle today, firstly very annoyed that depsite it clearly stating on the vodafone online shop it came with 1GB of data in the shop I was told it only came with 500MB, and despite it clearly saying on the box that ot does indeed come with 500MB of data my account only says it has 250MB of data allownce. 

How can I get the other 250 as promised by both the shop assistant and the box itself? 

And finally why does the vodafone online shop promise 1GB of bundled data yet instore the exact same product comes with only 500MB? Not fair at all, and worse that there is mention of this difference online at all.
