Please check in your phones settings.
In the status bar as the top is any symbol showing like E as this will mean opening up internet pages will be slow and sometimes time out.
Settings-Mobile Data- Turn Mobile Data on.
If it's on check in your myvodafone to ensure data is showing as available to use.
Does this happen in one area or everywhere ?
You could also try a reset.
On the iPhone hold down the Sleep/Wake Button and Home button together until the Apple Logo shows. Then On seeing this Apple Logo release both buttons ,and the iPhone will reset , which has been known to clear most glitches.
and or try ->
Settings -> General-> Reset -> Reset Network Settings.
