I have just purchased a SSv3 to complement my SSv1 and extend the range to some outbuildings.
Previously I had directed port 123 to the SS, but now I have 2 devices I have removed the port redirect.
Is there anything required to get 2 devices working on the same WAN?
The v3 is a bit temperamental on getting it to start - 8 times out of 10 (even with the v1 unplugged), the v3 goes to through flashing white light 1 to flashing power and solid orange 2+3 lights. It's worked once, getting through the entire cycle to solid white lights 2+3.
Once it was working, I plugged the v1 in and it came up quickly - but there were some errors on the router to do with ICMP timeouts against this IP.
So..
1. Any ideas why the v3 (even on it's own) is temperamental? How does one reset it? (holding the rest button for 5, 10, 30, 45 seconds does not seem to restart it)
2. What is the significance of lights 2+3 solid orange. It does have an ethernet connection to the router, and when plugged in it goes off trying to connect to 194.74.65.69
3. I recall port 123 was a keep-alive signal from vodafone SS server back to the SS. How does the system manage with 2 SS's basically on the same WAN IP address?
Solved! Go to best answer.

Hi davidg_wilson,
There should be no reason that you can’t use the two Sure Signals on a WAN as long as the bandwidth is sufficient, given that you may have other equipment using it.
To address your other questions:-
1). The v3 should work straight from the box, once set up has been completed. To reset the device, hold the reset button down until the light flash, then unplug it and plug it back in (whilst holding the reset button). Keep holding the button until the lights flash again and you should be up and running again.
2). Flashing power and two solid orange lights indicate that authentication via the security gateway has failed during the set up process. Do you have any system monitors at all? Doo you have a firewall and if so, has the Sure Signal been allowed? You may find that once you’ve successfully reset the device, set up will proceed normally. If it doesn’t, can you post the v3 serial number please?
3). There shouldn’t be an issue with two Sure Signals connecting from the same IP address. They will connect individually to our servers and make their own connection.
Thanks
Andrew

Just to say that the V3 took a while to authenticate - much longer than the V1 does, but I now have both working just fine. I am hooked up through a Draytek 2830 router - note that the SS's have to be fixed to WAN1 on this router as this is PPPoA and the WAN2 port can be PPPoE which does not work.
I have no port forwarding or other settings - basically they both just work plug 'n play.
