My Vodaphone Contract

Hi all I have spoken with vodaphone customer service who have tried to help me but with no avail.

When I took out my original 24 month contract out I was sent an email (extract below)

Account number:
Mobile number:
Contract start: 18-Dec-14
Minimum commitment end: 17-Dec-16
UK minutes: 600
UK texts: UNLIMITED
UK data: 1GB

then goes on to say

Your Plan

Monthly line rental

 £38.50

 45%

 06-Oct-14

 06-Oct-16

I think the your plan bit referes to the period when I got the 45% discount as I recall my bill increased after this date.

My question is what was my contract period please?

This is all about when the warranty expired on my phone Oct or Dec?

Manny thanks

Well I went into the Vodaphone shop to report the 'can't find SIM error message' prior to the December cut off date, the young lad couldn't fix the prob by installing another SIM (hopefully that's recorded on their system)

At that point I thought the phone only had a year warranty on it, so thought the warranty had expired, the vodaphone guy didn't offer me repair or if he checked the date on his screen it may of said the October date.

It's only when I went to carphone warehouse to buy anotheer phone I became aware that my broken phone had a 2 year warranty, they actually sent it away as a warranty repair (couldn't fix it, lost it for 3 week, when it came back they said they couldn't repair it as they couldn't see it was under warranty and quoted to me the October date.

@Dazza16 We'd like to check your account.

I've sent you a private message with details on how to get in touch.

I think u are probably right.

I would just like somebody at Vodaphone to explain why I have December dates on the original delivery email (as well as October dates) as per my original post and also have the December date on some vodaphone repair paperwork I have.

It makes no sense to me

@Dazza16 - Have you sent an email using the link Rahim posted above?

If so, we’ll look into this and be in touch as soon as we can.

Hi Jenny yes I sent him a PM on Monday thanks.

Did you reply using the link Rahim sent you, or did you use PM.  The team won;t repond to the latter, so you need to use email.   If you've had an acknowledgment, post the reference number here and the team can check it's in the queue.

Here is most likely what has happened.

Oct-Oct is your Discount Period. New phone delivered October so warranty clock starts then. Your contract period end is Dec.

When you contacted Vodafone initially, whoever looked at the contract assumed that the contract started 24 months before the end date, and also thought that was the date phone was delivered.

I had similar situatution. I had Early upgrade in Nov14, contract end was 31Jan15 which now changed to 31Jan17. I called in first week of Feb15 to change the Tariff and the Agent told me no problem as I was within 14 days. But I knew that was not the case.

Just in case I haven't explained very well in my post above. I have had a 24 month Vodafone contract which started in December at a price of £X.

I upgraded early, in the October at £Y, so the new price range for 24 months at that price then reverted to the original price of £X per month until the original December date, so in total the contract lasted 48 months in total, and I was wondering if you had done similar.

If however your phone was received in the October it would be outside the warranty period anyway.
