Post Title: 'First half of post code - Area' e.g. ST1 – Stoke-on-Trent

1) Does the issue happen in just one location? If so, how far do you have to travel to regain service? Yes

2) What is the full postcode (e.g. ST1 1AA) of where the issue occurs? If you don't want this showing on the eForum, add it to your profile here. NE49 (full postcode on my profile)

3) Does the issue occur if you try your SIM card in a different phone? Yes

4) What errors are seen or heard when the issue occurs? Very weak signal or no signal indoors, have to go outdoors for better signal. Normally get 3 or 4 bars indoors until this problem started.

5) Does this happen on 2G, 3G, 4G or all? 2G

6) When did you first notice this issue? Started this morning, signal hasn't been that good for a few weeks.

7) Is the issue permanent or intermittent? If intermittent, are there certain times of the day when it occurs? Permanent

I have taken sim card out of phone and back in and has made no difference.

@NIXON26 - I’ve checked the coverage in your area and you should get good 2G, although 3G and 4G are mostly outdoors only.

Your local sites are all performing fine and with no recent problems.

Your phone will always try to connect to 3G or 4G, even if it’s low coverage. This means that in an area with very little 3G but good 2G, your phone will still be trying to connect to 3G – resulting in you experiencing little to no coverage.

Try changing your phone’s network settings to 2G only and you should find that this improves.

Thanks Jenny,

The signal returned yesterday afternoon. Since the upgrade work earlier this year I have had to leave my phone on 2G mode as the 3G mode has a very weak signal or none at all. Just recently the 2G signal hasn't been as good as it used to be.

Out of interest is the 3G and 4G signal strength going to improve any since it was launched in our area in January, just o2 in this area has gone through the upgrade in our area recently and the 3G and 4G signal on there's is much better than Vodafone's.

I hope you can help me with that one, otherwise I will let you know if there is any further problems.

Thanks

John

@NIXON26 - There are currently no planned improvements for the next three months, but you can keep checking back on our UK coverage checker for any updates. :Smiling:
