Hello,
Following the recent ios 8.1 upgrade the toggle to disable 3g/ enable 2g or edge should be visable, but it is not.
I had this option on my iphone 5 using the same vodafone simcard so maybe its not a vodafone issue but an apple issue.
I spoke with Apple and they are saying to speak to my carrier.
Any help please?
Its really useful to disable 3G when in a poor network coverage area.
Thanks!

I have an unlocked 6+bought directly from Apple with a Vodafone sim and there is no option to disable 3G - only to turn off 4G

This isn't confined to Vodafone or even the UK. I just read this thread on the official Apple Discussion Forums

@ dmdrewitt, Looking at the link would it not suggest the opposite - that it is possible?

Sorry dmdrewitt, I read the info on the page wrong. That seems pretty definitive from Apple then. I wonder if Vodafone will every support VoLTE?
I wonder if people on T-Mobile and Three support VoLTE and whether or not they have the toggles. Like I said before, friend's iphone 6's on EE and O2 don't have the toggles either on IOS8.1
This really sucks! I can get no reception at all in places where I used to by switching off 3G/ Switching to 2G. Places like my GP surgery, local Tesco and Brent Cross shopping centre are a total dead zone now!
