Hello dmlox
Although quite an old phone, the Nokia 6555 is still 3G compatable and should work with a SS.
GSM Arena will always give you full phone specifications, please see below.

Hi Ann,
Your reply gave me confidence.
My 'phone has not agreed.
We have a Sure Sig v3. - registered to my wife.
Her 'phone works, as does those of our children and our grandchildren.
Is there some kind of 'app', programme or software which there 'phones know and mine does not?
My 6555 was originally bought 'unlocked'.
I put a Vodafone p.a.y.g. SIM card in it and iy works where the public network is available but not where our S.Sigv3 3G sig is available. Does it need 'poke-with-a-sharp-stick' in its software?
Any ideas?
Many thanks

Hello (again) Ann,
Footnote extra
My wife's SIM is a p.a.y.g - but it works
My Nok. 6555 is selected to 'Dual Network' = UMTS and GSM
Many thanks

Dear Tech Team,
I have just gone through a tortuous maze to be, finally, told that my Nokia 6555 does not work on the same 3G frequency as a V'fone Sure Sig. V3.
Please tell me what frquency the S.Sig V3 uses for 3G connections
(I do understand these things)
Many Thanks
D.Lox.

Hi dmlox,
The Vodafone UK 3G runs on 2100MHz.
Your phone and Sure Signal both run with this frequency.
If you’ve had your SIM for a while, it's worth testing a new SIM.
We can order one for you, please get in touch here.
Thanks,
Gemma

Hello Gemma,
You may have just jogged my brain into gear.
There are it seems two versions of this model.
One runs: UMTS 850 / 2100
The 'American version' runs UMTS 850 / 1900
My 'phone has the logo at&t on the flip cover
I guess that it is the American version running on 2100 MHz
OOOOOOhh Bother!!
Many thanks
