Not receiving international SMS

Hi,

My mum is a pay as you go Vodafone customer in the UK. I live in Australia and am on the Telstra network. In the last few weeks all the text messages I have sent her she has not received. I have recently ported my number to another service provider but these issues started before I did this. I have asked my service provider to check this out and they have confirmed that, as I can still phone my mum's number the issue is not from my end. I am able to send sms messages to other UK mobiles and these are being received. 

She has a basic phone (GT E1200), not a smartphone, and does not have internet so I am unable to use any other messaging apps. I would really like to be able to communicate with my mum via SMS - could someone please look into this issue for her. There is no point me asking her to contact you direct  as she is elderly,  does not have email and finds technology very intimidating!

Hello,

Being able to contact a loved one is vital even more so if one is abroad so I understand your plight. 

A good process of elimination would be to try the SIM card in another phone to help rule out her SIM card or phone at issue.

If it’s a basic phone then I cannot see it being a feature such as text blocking. 

Are the other mobiles you can text ok also on Vodafone Uk ?

I not convinced it could be anything in her my Vodafone settings but it could be worth checking. 

I understand what your saying about finding Tech intimidating so could another family member or friend , neighbour help ?

As the incoming texts are being sent from a foreign abroad network I do not think Vodafone would be able to do much as they understandably do not have access. 

Live Chat or Customer Service On 191 may also be able to help. 

One other instance to check is that your not including emojis or sending long messages as this could turn the sms into mms messages which her phone may not accept.
