Ordering direct from Apple

I thought I'd share my experience today. I always buy phone phones directly from the manufacturers unlocked and have a sim free contract.

 

I have ordered my new iPhone 7+ this morning on the Apple website.

 

Delivery date?? NOVEMBER!! and no option to collect in any of the ten stores in and around London.

 

So the moral of the story is be patient.

It doesn’t even say when in November. Just says ‘Ships November’. Bonkers!

I have known for Apple in the past launches to redress deliveries dates and contact people to give an earlier option. 

 

What Gb and colour did you opt for @jeffkinn

I had this two years ago, although not with such a long lead time. I eventually managed to sneak in an order to pick up at store much earlier than the delivery date on the original order so I went with that and cancelled the delivery order. I hope to be able to do the same again this year. Otherwise I’ll wait patiently.

When the iPhone 5 launched as I also buy from Apple sim free I had to supply my email address onto the Apple Site which was allowed one per day. Then I'd have to wait until 9pm to see if I received an email from Apple telling me if I had been successful or not. 

 

14 attempts it took. 

 

From then on I decided to wait until the madness subsided and walked into my local Apple Store and left with the colour and capacity of choice.

 

This gave me time to watch YouTube unboxings and real end user reviews and play with the working demo models in the Apple Store. That gave me an informed decision to make to purchase or not. :Winking_smiley:

It's the jet black that's the problem - the other colours are 2-3 weeks delivery

People want the new colour. :Smiling:

 

What do you think about Apples disclaimer about micro scratches being prone on that colour ?

Changed the order to a matte black - now delivery is 4-10 October

I have just ordered from Apple the 7/128GB/Jet Black for my nephew's 14th birthday gift and delivery is showing 2-3 weeks.

 

Luckily his birthday is not until the end of October so hopefully it will arrive before then.
