If you head over to this link to our full version of the
Vodafone Mobile Connect, you'll then be able to select the network you want to use.
I'm afraid Vodafone do not use the EDGE Network as we employ the much faster 3G service so you wouldn't be able to use the Nokia to get onto the EDGE. Heres the guide to set up your phone as a modem
On the PC, click Start, click Control Panel.
2. If Pick A Category is displayed, click Switch to Classic View from the left menu.
3. Double click Phone and Modem Options.
4. Click the Modems tab.
5. Select nokia Data Modem, click Properties.
6. Click the Advanced tab.
7. In the Extra initialization commands box, enter at+cgdcont=1,”IP”,”internet”
8. Click OK twice.
Setting up the connection
1. On the PC, click Start, click Control Panel.
2. Double click Network Connections.
3. Click on Create a new connection from the left menu.
4. The New Connection Wizard will appear, click Next.
5. Select Connect to the Internet, click Next.
6. Select Set up my connection manually, click Next.
7. Select Connect using a dial-up modem, click Next.
8. Select the Modem – nokia Data Modem and ensure all other modems are de-selected, click Next.
9. In the ISP Name field enter Vodafone UK (GPRS) click Next.
10. In the Phone number field, enter *99# and click Next.
11. In the User name field enter web
12. In the Password field enter web
13. In the Confirm password field enter web, click Next.
14. Click Finish.
15. When the Connect box appears, click Cancel.
Making the connection
1. On the PC, click Start, click Control Panel.
2. Double click Network Connections.
3. Double click Vodafone UK (GPRS)
4. Click Dial.
