Hi
I'm trying to access a network server from my Windows PC via a wired connection to a Vodafone Connect router, but it doesn't work.
The service requires access to port 1666, so I tried configuring port forwarding on the router but it didn't help.
I can connect with no problem if I switch to my iPhone's personal hotspot instead of the broadband connection, so I figure it must be a network / router issue.
Hope someone has an idea what might be happening here.
thanks

Nobody from live chat ever seems available. I called technical support but they weren't very technical. Is there a second-tier support number?

HIm yes I spoke to the broadband team by phone but they just did the usual things such as checking the line.
I tried Live Chat but they said they don't do support for fixed lines.
Anyway, the problem is really strange, and affects all sorts of services - not just the specialist one I initially mentioned. We're a company of game developers, and sometimes we can't connect to Steam. If one person can't connect, none of us can connect - it isn't a problem with our PCs for instance. These outages last 5-10 minutes, sometimes longer. I thought maybe it was a bandwidth problem but I used the router's packet trace and ran it through Wireshark - there was no correlation between this occuring and spare bandwidth.

@rbates51 The issue you're experiencing may be due to your firewall setup.
Turning off the firewall is not usually recommended, however you may wish to try a session without the firewall and see if the issue continues to occur.
If your issue continues to occur, you would need to persevere with our Broadband Live Chat team.

Hi I've tried disabling the firewall before, and also the Exposed Host Function. Neither made any difference.
As I mentioned, the live chat team claim that they don't support fixed broadband - see attached transcript.
