Portuguese credit card on the internet I finish with an error

I’m in Portugal at the moment

 I need to top up my phone but when I try to do it using my Portuguese credit card on the internet I finish with an error .

Can anybody help me.

Can I top up whith my paypall account? And how can I do it.

Hi, it has to be a UK card to work.

Not sure about paypal.

In the UK you can top up from some ATM machines, not sure about using abroad though.

I think that, if you follow the freesim link, you will end up ordering a new SIM card! 

I've just tried using http://www.vodafone.co.uk/shop/existing-customers/topping-up/index.htm - I selected phone, top up credit, pay by PayPal, then entered my PAYG number twice, and was taken to the PayPal log-on screen for my account. Of course, my PayPal account has entirely UK details recorded, but the whole point of PayPal is that the organisation accepting the payment can't see any account details for the customer, so it ought to work for anyone anywhere in the world!

If you find that for some reason it doesn't work, please come back and tell us, but otherwise we'll feel able to recommend it to other Forum users.

Edited to add: I just tried to top up my phone from within my online account - using that route, I was not offered the option of paying by PayPal. I was taken to a page that wanted me to confirm the address for my card etc, etc, so that isn't going to work for a non-UK card.

I've checked with @KD and in theory you should be able to use PayPal using a card not registered to a Vodafone UK address.

I'll see if @KD can shed some light as to why the option isn't there on your My Vodafone account.

As PayPal is used for one off payments there's no current plans to introduce this in My Vodafone.

We're always looking at ways to improve our services so if this changes we'll update the thread.
