It's a shame that you've been having problems connecting with your modem, there's a few thing's that I want you to check within the settings to se if we can get you sorted out.
Can you check that the connection type is set to Contract as you're using your contract SIM.
Then, in the Vodafone software go to settings, Account Type, and make sure that Contract is ticked.
If you can check these settings for me and give it another whirl, let me know how you get on.
