Just bought a second hand iPhone 5s and went into my local vodafone store to get a sim and asked them to register the imei number and they wouldnt do it. I am a vodafone contract customer and thought this would be a formality. Can someone confirm how I can get the imei number registered on my account?
Its a bit of a minefield - you would think that in this day and age (electronic) there would be a way of transfering the ownership of a mobile. Especially when I have a receipt.
I think the reasoning behind it is to stop a stolen phone slipping through the net and being switched to someone new without the consent of the original owner.
