I recently had to buy a new battery, as the old one was showing signs of fading too quickly. Fair enough, as I've given it quite a hammering over the past year, but I hadn't realised until I started trying to price a replacement that the S3 Mini had assorted possible batteries, and inevitably it was important to buy the right one.
I searched on the code printed on the battery, but all the suppliers were offering me all the various types of battery, without making any very clear distinction between them. Things to check are:
Some of the pictures of the batteries were rather fuzzy. That was actually "a good thing", although it seemed a bit worrying at the time, but it proved to mean that they were Samsung-manufactured with a recent date, mysteriously photographed still in the sturdy plastic carry-case in which they are supplied.
So, if you need to order a replacement battery, take care! I did take care, and was very relieved to receive the correct battery, but it would have been very easy to get it wrong.

This is some great advice @Annie_N
With the amount and variety of phones out there at the moment it is very easy to order one thats for a very similar (but different) model of phone to you. By following your quick 3 point checklist you should be able to ensure you get the right battery first time.
