Roaming inNew Zealand

1: Seeker

I am visiting NZ for 6 weeks, I have some queries about your roaming SIM cards

1. Does the card include calls within NZ and UK and calls to and fro UK/NZ.

2. Would I pay for incomimg texts and calls

3. Could I keep my number free of charge.

4. Would my current contract include any NZ calls or texts

Many thanks,

Hi there

Can I just confirm that you intend to or have moved to Vodafone UK on a pay monthly plan?  If so, the info below will apply:

  1. You can get calls made within NZ and back to the UK to come out of your UK allowance by opting into WorldTraveller.  It will cost you £5 per day for every day that you use it.  The first use of the day would trigger the charge, so sending a text, making a call or using data.  You have to decide whether or not this is worth it for you.
  2. If you don't opt into WorldTraveller, you would pay the standard roaming rates found here.  If opted into WorldTraveller, you would not pay to receive calls.  There is no charge to receive a text whilst abroad
  3. If you are using a Vodafone UK SIM card abroad, you would automatically be using the same UK number whilst in New Zealand, that's what roaming means.  If you are talking about porting your current number from one of the other UK networks to Vodafone, yes you can do that to keep the number you currently use.
  4. See point 1 for further info on WorldTraveller.  If you are asking if you'd be able to call NZ from the UK, you can do but you'd pay the standard international call charges.
