A lot of people disappointed with the S820 S7 Edge in the US, claiming that, despite it's focus speed, the actual photos taken are worse than the S6, even in low light. A lot of it is just jealousy from people stuck in S6 contracts one suspects, but there are comments from people who do own the S7 and S7 Edge as well. Personally, I have a DLSR if I want to take serious pics, and I'm willing to sacrafice a little quality for the focus speed the S7 has but it would be nice to have as good a quality as possible at the time of the phones release, especially with so much attention paid to the camera and it's abilities.
I'm wondering if the Exynos device will have different camera hardware than the S820? It wouldn't be the first time Samsung has done this, it happened on the S4 for example.

Ive had a play with the working g demo models in my local Samsung Store and the pictures looked OK although I submit they were obviously in doors and nkt of anything moving.

Incorrect, there are numerous differences as a result of the different SOCs. For example, the DAC is completely different. And to touch on my opening post, on paper the Snapdragon and Exynos Galaxy S4 had identical cameras, but there were hardware differences which meant the Exynos produced slightly better quality pictures.

Numerous differences, but you only mentioned once. DAC being different does't make a huge difference though.
Yeah, but Samsung wasn't using its own tech then. They marketed their phone with a 16MP sensor, but internally used 16MP sensors from two different suppliers. This time however, they are using their own camera tech along with a Sony IMX260 sensor, as revealed in the S7 teardown

There are numerous difference, the DAC being one. It's a completely different SOC. The simple truth is that you said the only difference was the CPU which is incorrect.
