S7 dropped rear camera shattered

hello - i unfortunately dropped my S7 the other day and the rear camera shattered.    I spoke to a guy on online chat and he assured me my phone was covered by a 2 year warrant

I suspect that does not cover this type of repar -  anyone able to clarify ?  he reasured me multiple times it did but i suspect its not covered

Unfortunately the manufacturer warranty of 24 months does not cover accidental damage or water damage. 

If a person has a standalone mobile phone insurance then that may cover accidental damage. 

Or household contents insurance or some bank accounts offer cover as a perk of the account. 

T&c and excess fees would need to new checked. 

Alternatively if the phone was supplied by Vodafone you could hand it to them to send it off and they'd contact you with a costing. 

Or speak directly with Samsung UK or if local visit one of their service locations

Someone should feedback to the team running the online chat.   I made it quite clear that it was accidental damage yet they insisted it would be repearied under warranrty

second time in a week from the online team - earlier instance was a new battery needed - they sent me to the lcoal store assuring me that i could pick one up free of charge - except the feedback from the store is that no store carries batteries...

I would certainly support speaking with Samsung via their online UK chat or by visiting their service centres if local. 

Hopefully nothing else has been affected by the drop.
