SIM Not Valid

Losing the will to live having lost several hours of my life in Live Chat.

In brief:- Blackberry died and replaced on insurance with Iphone 4s.

            Vodafone sent new micro sim which failed to activate

            Sim Not Valid

            Apparently they activated the wrong sim

            Correct sim activated

            Sim Not valid

            Was told that sim must be corrupted

            Sent new sim

            new sim activated today

            Sim Not valid

Full message reads   :-

SIM Not Valid

The SIM card that you currently have installed

in this phone is from a carrier that is not supported

under the activation policy that is currently assigned

by the activation server. This is not a hardware issue

with the iPhone. Please insert another SIM card from

a supported carrier or request that this iPhone be 

unlocked by your carrier. Please contact Apple for more

information.

That means that the iphone is locked to another network. Speak to the insurance company and ask them to send you a phone that is either unlocked or locked to the Vodafone network.
