Solution

SS1 and Vonage VOIP

My Sure Signal version 1 is disabled when I receive an inbound VOIP call over my Vonage service.

The SS light 4 goes out and stays out requiring a power cycle to re-establish a link to Vodafone. Obviously, in-progress Vodafone calls are dropped.

Is this a known problem and is there a fix available?

Serial number of the unit is 21196866673

Thanks

I wonder if it is because the Vonage call is taking up all the bandwidth and not leaving enough for the Sure Signal device?

PWIAC

Don't think so. I have 20Meg bandwidth. Surfing etc. is not affected by Vonage.

I also use Microsoft Lync calls while making / receiving Vonage calls, no problem.

Even if the bandwidth was starved from the Sure Signal, I would expect it to recover and not nned a restart.

Thanks ...DL

Hi DavidLancaster,

Everything looks fine with the registration and as it only happens when you get the call over Vonage, we need to work out what’s happening.

It sounds like you’ve got enough bandwidth to manage both connections but this could also be something to do with what ports are being used.

Is it just light four that goes out on the Sure Signal?

If you cycle aeroplane mode on the phone, does this reconnect?
