Apologies if this duplicates or its posted in the wrong place but my previous topic seemed to disapear after I edited it!!!
Would really appreciate fellow forum members advise and experiences with the S8 and S8+ please.
I've watched every review I could find on and handled countless devises in local stores but I'm still torn between the S8 and S8+ especially as I tend to only replace my handsets ever 4 yrs!
I'm currently using the S4 still and although I prefer this size phone realistically I know what I've been using my phone for in recent years has drastically changed since upgrading from the S2 to the S4 over 4 yrs ago when I used them only to text and call people.
I now mostly use the S4 not as a phone but a type of tablet for facebook, emails and surfing the internet with my laptop consigned to collecting dust under the sofa thus why although put off by the weight and size I'm seriously considering the S8+ rather then the smaller narrower S8.
Was suprised and dismayed to find the S8 was a smaller and narrower phone then the S7 edge even though technically the screens bigger on the S8.
Although I always keep my phones in protective flip cases and would carry it in a handbag am nervous as hell about the durability of the edge screens.
Would really appreciate experiences people have had with both these handsets please.

@fairywishes1 wrote:Just wondered though, having been used to flip cases what do you do about protecting the glass on the screen?
My preference is the Official Samsung Film type screen protector.
This is because due to the curved edges on the phones the Glass Tempered options are known to pop off especially if it isn't compatible with the case of choice.
This is because the Glass options just have silicone adhesive along the edges of the protector which in my experience with using around 10 different versions of them on my Samsung Galaxy s7 edge they popped off even with known case friendly options.
I now use the Official Samsung Film type protectors because they adhere properly and these don't have any orange peel effect and don't feel like plastic to the touch.

Yes BANDOFBROTHERS is correct about the glass screen protectors coming off.
To be honest that is item I have struggled to find.
Although I haven't looked recently
Also if you do try some of the tempered glass one's be carefull as some of them require soaking your phone to activate.
I believe soaking your device could trip the water sensor which if tripped voids your warranty
NOTE
If any one has any suggestions about any type of screen protector I would love to know as that is one item I could use

There is one I've seen on video where it adheres via full over silicone adhesive @DRUIDDOODE
The phone sits in a supplied cradle and the adhesive bottle is clipped ontop of the screen to which it then glides out all over the phones screen.
Then the glass protector is fitted.
Then there is a supplied uv light that sits over the phone to cure the silicone.
Some reviews says it's the best one out.
Here is the link to explain more > Whitestone-dome-glass-galaxy-s7-edge-full-cover-screen-protector.
I've not come across a glass screen protector that needs wetting.
That's usually some plastic Film types.
The Samsung ones I use come in a pack of two and require no wetting - just careful patience fitting.

I now have the phone in Pink Gold but it's still sitting in its box as I have not decided on the screen protector and case.
Struggling to souce the Samsung branded screen protector as Samsung's website where to buy is greyed out.
I think I previously said I've always just bought cheepy flip cases to protect the phone but I'd worry about buying one of those for the S7 edge.
Was looking at the pink UAG case on eBay but worried in case they are fakes.
Starting to wonder if I'll ever get this phone out the box lol!

If you have a Samsung Experience Store local they usually have the Samsung screen protectors in stock.
You could try Amazon for the cases or look for any official web page to buy from.

Thanks BandofBrother and Duidedoode for all your advise it's greatly appreciated.
Am going to buy this in pink UAG off eBay 172555810152 and hope it's not a fake
Having only previous spent fiver on cases before I'll be pretty fed up if it is! Although it's ugly as hell lol am more concerned about protecting the phone.
BandofBrothers you never said what you had your old S7 in?

Sorry this is late fairy wishes I looked at another U.A.G case for my 7 edge in different colour and there are warnings that although the case can be bought in a few places they do say Amazon is the only place to buy a genuine U.A.G and make sure it's from Samsung and not a seller as Amazon sell the original themselves and they won't sell fakes if they can help it and if it does of which I very much doubt you would get a refund or an original
Also when I buy off line if I'm home I try to film the whole delivery opening and package opening with the address details shown and then if you receive broken fake or even empty packaging you have something to back your self up with
I was recently called paranoid over this but they didn't know it has saved my skin twice
6 months later he sells an exotic guitar effects pedal on eBay not only did the guy who bought it said that he was sent an empty box box and filed the complaint the result the guy got the pedal for free he also got his money back so now my friend has know pedal but is left with a hefty bill
EBay buyers beware this is happening a lot more than people think but in the guitar world it has become a major problem
There is a guy who has just posted a thread recently about this called China guitar skeptic on you tube I think he as a web site and he his a pleasant English guitar fanatic and player and he highlights the problem with evidence

Some really great factors here @BandOfBrothers !
I've just returned back to Android from iOS, got myself an S8 a couple of days ago (cracking deal with Vodafone) and man I've missed Android so much!!! I've come from an iP7 so adjusting to the height of the S8 can be a bit difficult at times, mainly reaching the notification bar however how Samsung have added the Finger sensor gesture, it makes a big difference!!
So far I'm glad I choose the S8 and not the S8+ as I think that it would just not be comfortable when using it on handed!
